Kent Aberle is a first-call professional drummer from Atlanta, GA, but this latest tattoo in Kent’s rhythm career is just that – one groove in a life-long rhythm dedicated to drumming that started at the age of six.
With over thirty-years of drumming and fifteen years experience as a professional, Kent has performed every type of situation possible from the restaurant jazz gig, to the metal rock show, to playing in front of 10,000 people with a Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame inductee. Kent’s ability to be a groove chameleon performing all styles of music as well as his harmonizing backing vocal ability has made Kent one of the busiest drummers in the southeast and a first call for the amazing Atlanta music scene for both live performance and sessions. Performing, though, is just one aspect of Kent’s career.
With a strong belief in the power of rhythm to shape lives, Kent has become one the most sought after instructors in the Atlanta area. This aspiration to teach led to the self-release of Kent’s instructional DVD “Technique and Musicality for The Weekend Warrior” which is receiving great reviews from drummers nationwide. This same aspiration to reach out to and help other drummers also led to Kent writing a column titled “The Weekend Warrior” for DRUMHEAD Magazine starting in 2010 as well as columns for Atlanta area music stores websites, The Drum Buzz.com website, and Kent’s personal website www.kentaberledrums.com. Kent also has performed numerous drum clinics for music stores covering not only playing drums, but talking to future professionals about what it takes to pursue a career in music.
Kent endorses Vic Firth drumsticks, Meinl Cymbals and Percussion, Pork Pie Drums, and The Grip Peddler. Kent also uses DW Pedals and Hardware, and Aquarian drumheads.
